FAQ
How am I supposed to burn and care for candles?
- Trim the wick to 1/4 before each burn.
- Trim off any carbon build-up (mushrooming) before burning.
- The first burn should be 3-4 hours minimum so the melt pool can establish itself. This prevents major tunneling. Keep in mind that some hang-up on the sides is normal for the first few burns.
- Store candle away from light to prevent discoloration.

Why is my candle burning the way it is?
Here is a troubleshooting guide for some common problems, but please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or issues.
- Sooting:Â Candles can produce black soot if they are in a drafty environment. Try moving the candle or closing off the source of the draft.
- Tunneling:Â Tunneling is when the candle is burning down the middle while leaving excessive wax on the sides. Prevent tunneling by burning for at least 3-4 hours on the first burn. Some wax on the sides is normal. The candle will catch up by the end.
- Wick Mushrooming: Carbon build-up (also known as mushrooming) can be normal. Certain fragrances are more prone to mushrooming than others (looking at you, House Cat). Trimming off the excess build-up before each burn will keep the flame burning nicely.
- Hot Jar: Candles naturally burn hotter when they are further down in the container. Chaotic Good candles are designed and tested to prevent excess heating at the end, but use caution when handling.

What are wax melts and how do I use them?
Wax melts are melted using tea light or electric-powered wax warmers. They distribute scent without the need for managing candle wicks. Use according to your wax warmer's instructions.
Â
How do I use bath bombs? What are they for?
Bath bombs help create luxurious, spa-like bath experience. Chaotic Good bath bombs soften skin with sweet almond oil. Fragrance and fizz create a soothing atmosphere. Some contain water-soluble colors to add fun to bath time.

What about shower steamers? What are they and how do I use them?
Shower steamers add fragrance and/or soothing menthol to a shower. They should be placed on the floor or a shelf, somewhere where they will be splashed with water throughout the shower. Keeping them out of the direct water stream will keep them from fizzing away too quickly.
Menthol shower steamers add a cooling sensation, which can be soothing to a congested nose.
